The entrenched wisdom is that Hillary did a lousy job 15 years (and yes, she did), but people forget the larger backdrop: she was sailing into a huge headwind of:
-tens of $millions of ads of non-stop flat-out lies from the industry,
-nonstop unrebutted free air time for members of the Republican Crime Syndicate to spread flat-out lies,
- a national media that seemed either (charitably) not able to understand the simplest parts of the healthcare issue or (uncharitably) to be in the pocket of their advertisers or (as in the case of your pal Sully giving a platform to the ridiculous Betsy McCaughey) simply to hate the Clintons, and finally
-the usual stale & hypocritical boo-hooing from corporatist members of her own party (read: "Blue Dogs") about busting the budget.
This is what BHO is up against, and right now IMHO he's struggling. At the very least he needs to make sure the Blue Dogs feel his pain.
